Luggage

• One suitcase and one backpack should hold enough for at least two to three weeks. In addition, space in hotel rooms may be very limited, so luggage storage can be a problem.

• A suitcase that has wheels is very helpful in walking to stations, etc.

• Travelers should be able to maneuver the suitcase and backpack and be able to lift the suitcase overhead (for train and bus luggage racks).

• Travelers should be able to carry the packed suitcase and backpack up flights of stairs. Encourage them to try this before the trip. Some hotels outside of the United States may not have elevators.
